15 TIPS TO PARTY QUILT FREE

Alcohol is a common nominator we come across when we talk about progress (or lack of) in the gym.

We are not here to tell anyone they should stop drinking!

In fact, we regularly host and enjoy parties with our members! (see pic below)

However, reducing the amount will have huge benefits to your sleep, your mental health and to the image that greets you in the mirror.

Most of the tactics in this email are very simple and easy to do! My advice is to pick 1-2 to try...
You never know, it might just be the best thing you do this year! ;)

15 TIPS TO REDUCE ALCOHOL, BUT NOT THE FUN!

1. Alternate Drinks: For every alcoholic drink you have, follow it up with a non-alcoholic one. This can be sparkling water, soda with a twist of lime, or a refreshing mocktail. It keeps you hydrated and slows down your alcohol intake.

2. Set a Limit: Decide on a specific number of drinks you'll have before the party starts. This helps you keep track and prevents overindulgence.

3. Mindful Sipping: Sip your drink slowly and savour its flavours. This not only makes the drink last longer but also helps you enjoy it more.

4. Hydration Strategy: Drink a glass of water between each alcoholic beverage. It not only slows down your alcohol consumption but also helps prevent dehydration.

5. Eat Beforehand: Have a nutritious meal before the party. Food in your stomach can slow the absorption of alcohol, reducing its effects.

6. Small Sips: Opt for smaller glasses or cups. This gives you the illusion of consuming more while actually having less.

7. Start with Mocktails: Begin the party with a non-alcoholic mocktail to pace yourself and get into the festive spirit.

8. Stay Engaged: Keep yourself busy with activities, dancing, or engaging conversations. When you're occupied, you're less likely to focus on drinking.

9. Set a Time Limit: Decide to stop drinking at a certain point during the party. This can help you enjoy the early part of the event while keeping your alcohol intake in check.

10. Be the Designated Driver: Offering to be the designated driver gives you a solid reason to limit your alcohol consumption.

11. Mindful Choices: Opt for drinks with lower alcohol content, such as light beer or spritzers, to reduce the overall alcohol intake.

12. Stay Social: Engage with friends and enjoy the atmosphere without the sole focus on drinking. Remember, the party is about the people and the experience, not just the alcohol.

13. Party Games: Participate in games or activities that don't involve drinking. This keeps you entertained and engaged without relying on alcohol for fun.

14. Visual Reminders: Keep track of the number of drinks you've had by placing bottle caps or drink stirrers in your pocket. It's a tangible reminder of your consumption.

15. Have a Support System: Share your intention to drink less with a friend or partner at the party. They can help hold you accountable and make the experience more enjoyable.

Remember, the goal is to have a good time and enjoy the party without overindulging in alcohol.

By implementing these strategies, you can strike a balance between socialising and making mindful choices about your alcohol consumption.
